long distance troubles

My boyfriend and I just started doing long distance a month or 2 ago and it sucks. He’s not great with his phone in general but I try and text him throughout the day and sometimes he doesn’t answer me. Even when I text multiple times sometimes I just get no response. When he’s with his friends I don’t mind because I know he’s occupied and I don’t normally have my phone with friends also but the majority of the time he isn’t with friends. Anyway what should I do? It really bothers me and we talk on the phone every night so it’s not like we’re not talking at all, I just want him to be more responsive because it makes me feel ignored. Should I bring it up, confront him and ask him to do better with his communication or just let it be? HELP
