How do you calm a tension headache?

I am really struggling today. I have the worst headache I’ve had in a while. I’ve stretched my neck, tried massaging it, and I took Tylenol when it got to the unbearable point. Normally, I would take a hot bath and go get a tension massage, but neither of those are allowed. Any ideas?

You can safely take Excedrine Tension Headache. It's acetaminophen based unlike the other excedrine products. This is what my midwife recommended to me. I also find ice packs on the back of my neck help. The pressure and cold do wonders.

I roll up a towel and put a heating pad on it...the towel helps stretch my neck and the heat helps relax my neck muscles. I also use a little bit of lavender oil on my temples.

I took a hot shower and just let the water run on the back of my head. Then I used a peppermint oil body wash and conditioner.
