Will I be able to do a VBAC?

Question

My first pregnancy was twins so it was kinda mandatory to have a csection. When I got pregnant with my daughter in 2014, I elected to have another csection because my husband was military and I wanted my family to be able to plan it. Now I’m pregnant with #4 and I want to know if I’ll be able to do a VBAC? It’s been over 5 years since the last csection and she was a “normal” birth.

Answer

I think it depends on other risk factors, like age, weight, preeclampsia or gestational diabetes. I also am hoping to have a VBAC, I will be 35 when I have this baby, so I’m considered “advanced maternal age” which is a risk factor my doctor is considering. We are planning to attempt it but I am keeping my mind open to the idea of a c-section too. Trying not to get too attached to any one birth plan.
