Natural or epidural?

I turn 28 weeks tomorrow which means I’m in my last trimester.I was looking at the process of getting epidural on YouTube and it really had me thinking about going natural.I had a talk with some moms and their experiences and what they prefer,I know everyone’s experiences and pain levels are different I just wanna know what was your experience like and what do you prefer?

I have had one epidural birth and one natural birth, and by far prefer the natural! I think a lot of it is a mindset! I just prepared myself beforehand. 
Watching natural birth videos on YouTube really helped me! 😊 Good luck on whatever you decide!!

My due date is today and till yesterday I wanted to go natural. The needle going into my spine was freaking me out. I really do have high pain tolerance and thought I could go without any medication. Boy I was so wrong. I’ve been in prodromal labour the past 20 hours and I’ve changed my mind...

Went my whole pregnancy wanting to go all natural. Went into early labor at 430am, got to the hospital at 930pm and begged for the epidural. It ended up not working, so I basically labored naturally except I couldn’t get up and move around. My next baby, I will be going natural because a) the same thing might happen and b) I want to be able to move around. I just want to say that I was deathly afraid of the needle and when I was in pain, I did not give a shit 😂😂😂

With my first my epidural failed. I was numb in my legs and actual vagina but felt every contraction, not to mention the back labor. Pushing was very relieving.
Second one my Anesthesiologist gave me like a "walking" epidural. I wasn't too numb but enough to take the edge off. I felt my baby coming out of my vagina and that was horrendous. I tried to labor naturally and did tons of different things to ease the pain but I decided to do the epidural again.
I will probably always choose the epidural. Labor is so exhausting and painful. I personally couldn't enjoy much.

Ive always heard once you get to that point where you feel like you cant take anymore is when it all starts to come to an end. This is my first so im keeping that in mind when going through with this natural birth. Ive had a spinal fusion so theres a high chance an epidural wont even work on me so i dont even want to try with the other risks involved.

With my first I was induced and went with an epidural. With my second they refused to give me an epidural because of my lab results. I have a high pain tolerance, but I cried when they refused. But I can honestly say I enjoyed labor, delivery, and after delivery much more without the epidural. I enjoyed the freedom of being able to move around and the added benefit of no catheter. I’m going to try natural again, but I’m open to an epidural.

Thank you for posting this! I was just thinking about this. I have a pretty low pain tolerance but I don't want to be all drugged up swollen from IVs when I meet my baby. I need to find a doula maybe?

When I was pregnant I always had an open mind.  I was aiming for natural but I was also opened to the idea of an epidural.  Since I usually get excruciating period cramps, I’m talking can’t walk, in bed crying I thought maybe I could somehow tolerate the contractions.  Boy I was wrong,  I ended up getting the epidural and so glad I did because I don’t think I could’ve have enjoy and look back at my labor as a positive experience.  I was a little bit scare about the process of it but honestly for me it was a breeze. The only thing I felt was the initial pinch of the needle (feels like a shot) and the actual liquid when the anesthesiologists gave me the first dose (felt cold).  I don’t regret it one bit.  Have a birth plan but go in knowing things can change.
