Bleeding while ovulating

So I usually get bad cramps while i ovulate. I missed a couple days of the pill and something that never happened began to happen. I realized slight spotting which is just getting heavier and heavier along with horrible cramps. worse than my period. it’s been three days now and the bleeding stopped so i took the pad off and i woke up in a **tmi** pool of blood, my underwear was covered but when i wiped, it was light pink and barely anything. the obgyn said it was nothing to worry about after i first called but could i have gotten my period 18 days early?
