What do you wish you knew?

Hey gorgeous ladies,
So today was the day. Hubby and I decided to start trying for baby #1. I am excited but a bit anxious about it. I was just wondering if you all have any advice or things you wish you knew on your first time?

I wish I knew or women talked more about the toll pregnancy can on you mentally & physically. I for 1 already had anxiety prior pregnancy and whoa it flared up! I would hear women talk about fatigue but never did I imagine it was so different from the fatigue you feel normally. Currently 34 weeks & if it wasn’t for the toll it has took on me mentally I would have the most perfect pregnancy experience lol. I didn’t experience morning sickness, only got nauseous twice because I overate. I still don’t feel uncomfortable to sleep, no heartburn, sometimes acid reflux not much though. So no symptoms doesn’t mean you need to be alert. Every pregnancy is different, it’s an experience. Although because of my anxiety I feel overwhelmed at times, I know at the end when I hold my babygirl I’ll know every single thing was absolutely worth it. :) baby dust to you & I hope you have a healthy pregnancy!

If it takes a while don't stress. Just have fun. Stressing I felt made it harder for my body to do what was natural. Took me two years of stressing before I gave up and then a month of not stressing I was pregnant.

I wish I knew how long it would take to get pregnant. We tried for a year before finally getting pregnant with our first, and this time we’ve been trying for a year again with no success yet. 
I also wish I had done more research about nontoxic products before my son was born. I found myself asking for lots of product recommendations on this app, but in the end I wish I had just trusted my gut and went with the more natural things to start out with, rather than the cheaper and/or more popular brands. 
One more thing I wish I had done ahead of time was research formula brands. I was so set on the idea that I was going to exclusively breastfeed that I didn’t buy any formula or bottles beforehand. It turns out I had some major health complications postpartum and I wasn’t able to breastfeed, so I ended up scrambling to figure out the best, most natural formula at the last minute when my son was already home. It was a nightmare and I was already an emotional mess because I felt that I was failing my child by having to use formula. Now I cannot praise formula enough because it kept my child alive, healthy, and thriving. I will say that European formula makes all the difference and all brands are definitely not created equal.

I wish i knew how long it could take to ttc. Those were a hard 3.5 years. I wish I would’ve talked to my doctor sooner about my infertility options. And even after all that work to get pregnant, i wish i would have known how hard pregnancy really can be. It’s not hard for everyone, but mines filled with constant nausea, extreme fatigue (no one tells you how bad that is. I can’t do anything and even had to quit my job), and sciatica 😐. But it’s all worth it right? Also there’s a lot of gross stuff that happens.

Unless hubby has a low sperm count sex every day can't hurt! That's how hubby and I conceived our baby! OPKs are helpful and try not to test until at least 12DPO

Don’t stress if you don’t succeed for couple of months. Just try to enjoy and relax because stressing about not conceiving will just postpone everything. Start taking prenatal vitamins and try to eat as healthy as possible.
