Parents shutting off my phone at night.

I understand why they want to shut off my phone at night, but i really don’t agree with it and they just refuse to listen to me.

First of all, I’m sixteen, learning to drive, have a job, looking at colleges, I’m responsible enough to be diligent with how late I stay up.

Second of all, some nights I DO need the internet, and if it automatically shuts off every night I won’t be able to do what I need. For example homework that’s due the next day, or if I’m in an argument with a friend and my internet suddenly shuts off.

I feel like I’m being treated like a child. If I make a bad choice and decide to stay up late watching videos, I feel awful the next day. I’ll be an adult in just over a year, I should have the responsibility to make my own choices and suffer from the consequences of bad choices. Not to mention I paid for my phone.

She’s agreed to talk with me and my dad about this sometime this week. How do I convince her I dont need to be treated like a child like this???
