I would like everyone to meet my precious baby girl, Norah Fania. She was born June 26th at 2:55pm at 6lbs 15oz. Get ready for an incredible birth story! I had been in false labor for 4 days straight. Finally at midnight on the 25th my contractions were consistent and getting really painful. Finally go time. We pack up and head to the hospital. The check me and say I’m not far enough yet to be admitted so they have me go walk the hospital for 2 hours to progress a little more. So I walk through each painful contraction thinking “ok this hurts really really bad but I feel like I’m handling it really well” so at 6am I head back to the labor unit and they check me again and tell me I’m still not far enough and they are sending me home. I felt so defeated. It was the last thing I wanted to do because one, I didn’t know how I was gonna get through the contractions that were getting considerably more and more painful at home, and I didn’t want Ezrah to see me in pain. Crying, we head back to the house where I labor for 2 more hours in the bath while my husband times my contractions and reads me interesting facts on Pinterest 😂 The pain was so bad that I said screw it I don’t care what the hospital says I’m heading back. We head back and I barely make it in the door where the worst contraction yet hits me so hard I can’t walk. Two people who worked at the hospital immediately got me wheel chair and took me up to the labor unit. My doctor had just gotten on shift and said she was admitting me and getting me my epidural not caring how far along I was. I wanted to jump out of the bed and hug her. The anesthesiologist would be in after finishing up another patient. At this point I was in so much pain that I can’t possible put into words how bad it was. My back felt like it was splitting in half, my hips felt like they were being pulled apart and both my thighs were burning like the ring of fire. I honestly felt like I was dying. I don’t know how long it took for the epidural to arrive but it felt like an eternity. As she was about to put the needle in my back I accidentally jumped, twice having her miss. I was so scared I had screwed up the chance of the epidural working. The epidurals they give at the military hospital isn’t what I got with Ezrah. Apparently I should still feel my legs and still be able to feel twinges of my contractions to be able to push when needed. Well, to everyone’s surprise, including the anesthesiologists my epidural worked WAY TO GOOD. I had ZERO feeling in my legs, or anywhere else for that matter. (Thank the lord in heaven) Everyone present said I became a totally new person when it started working. I was back to my smiling, joking self. Now that I finally had no more pain I decided I was going to try and get some rest. My doctor said if I felt any pressure then to let her know immediately. So a few minutes later I keep telling David I feel the pressure so we call the nurse in and she checked and said everything was ok. But she was going to get the delivery tools because it would probably be about 45 mins to game time. Well we all fell asleep. I was completely knocked out. All of a sudden I wake up to my mother in law, husband and sister completely freaking out. Apparently Norahs monitor had started beeping because it lost her heart rate. So my mother in law gets up to check and peeks under my blanket (I’m still completely passed out at this point) and apparently Norah was all the way out passed her shoulders. I BIRTHED MY DAUGHTER IN MY SLEEP. I started freaking out and asking if she was ok but heard a little cry between my legs (such a crazy feeling) So my husband and mother in law run out to get someone while my little sister holds my legs. They run in and deliver her in one second. It was so incredibly crazy but so amazing. Everyone had to catch their breath and calm their heart rates after 😂 Norah was healthy and perfect. It took me several hours to regain feeling in my legs. We are at home and both very happy. I feel amazing. Ezrah is such a proud and happy big brother. He keeps saying “mom she’s so cute” “mom I love little Norah” I feel so in love and my life feels complete. Every bit of the very rough pregnancy, the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my entire life in labor was all so worth it.
