What would you do in this situation?

Question

My mom is an alcoholic who doesn’t want help at all. Shes been to rehabs several times but most of the time after stay a month and getting out she relapse a couple days later. 
She has been seen by psychiatrist because she does have mental disorders and has been given meds to help her but she has not taken anything. 
A few days ago she got medicine that will stop her urge to drink however she took them for one day and then she’s back to drinking. 
She went to the hospital a few months ago because she was experiencing heart problems and found out she has high blood pressure now from drinking and she doesn’t take her medicine for it. I’m afraid she’ll die if she doesn’t get help. 
I love my mom but I’m just getting tired of this. It’s hard watching your parent health deteriorate and basically watch them killing themselves. It’s been like this since I was a young girl and now that I’m 18 I can voice my opinions but I don’t know what to say or do.

Nothing u can do u express how u feel to her but nothing eles u can do. An addict need to get them self help sometimes the best thing for them is to hit rock bottom before they even realize it tonget the help they need and sometimes that doesnt work either and they will never get help the best thing u can do for ur self is to seek help ur self u can see if u have any Al-Anon meeting near u to learn to cope and take care of ur self. Nothing eles u can do good luck hope for the best

Look up an Al-Anon or Alateen meeting near you, and go. These are programs for family and friends of alcoholics to help them understand their role in their loved one's addiction, and what they can and can't do to help them recover.

You can voice your opinions, but in the end, it won’t matter if she still refuses to get help. But I understand how painful it can be to watch, so I suggest maybe trying to save up and move out if it’s too much

There really is nothing you can do to help your mother if she won’t help herself. All you can really do is tell her that you are concerned for her and wish she would get help/make healthier choices and offer your support toward that. Let her know that she is loved and you wish she would love her self as much as you do. Unfortunately, if she doesn’t listen, there’s no way you can control what choices she makes. At that point is when you decide If you need to distance yourself from her and begin focusing on your own life and healing instead. I know it’s really hard watching your parent do this, but she has to want that change for herself before there will ever be any real change. Distancing yourself is for your own mental health. You are only responsible for your own mental health. She has to be responsible for her own too.

My mom has had the same issues my whole life. Unfortunately she won’t be able to quit until she is ready to do it for herself. The best thing I did was minimize my relationship with my mom as much as possible. Her toxic nature was ruining my mental health. I care about her but i needed to create healthy boundaries.

Unfortunately and believe me I understand you can't help those who don't want help, it'll end up taking you down with it
