Boy troubles

Okay I really like this guy like a lot. I have told him too and he said he wants to get to know me and talk in person and hang out. This is all good but he is always talking about my best friend because he used to have a massive crush on her and it's getting to me so much makes me feel not good enough. What do I do keep on trying or just forget.
