Boyfriend has major gender disappointment

We just found out our second and last baby’s gender. We have a beautiful daughter and my Bf is crazy about her. He was really hoping for a boy this time but we found out yesterday it’s a girl. He’s been so depressed since we found out. He only talks when he has to and he’s hardly eating. I knew he’d be disappointed but I didn’t expect it to be this severe. Did anyone else experience this and did it get better? I don’t know what else to do besides leave him alone until it passes.

I’m really sad because I want to name her and start talking about the nursery and how great having two daughters will be but I’m afraid if I mention anything he’ll just be turned off to the idea even more 😞
