Should I get early pregnancy blood tested?

Hi ladies,

I went to my family doctor as soon as I found out I was pregnant 4 weeks and 4 days. This is my first pregnancy. I’m currently 5 weeks and 5 days.

I asked about getting bloodwork and she said no need there will be lots of tests for you to take later. She gave me a form to do a dating ultrasound at 7 weeks.

But shouldn’t I get blood taken? To not only see HCG but my progesterone as well? Cause if progesterone is low I could then take something for it.
