Camping?

Question

Has anyone taken their little one camping? 
We have an opportunity to go and we’d be staying in a cabin for 2 days. 
If you have gone what is some advise you can give me?

We have a cabin and go all the time. Basic essentials for the baby are a pack and play and spare sheet, sound machine, Blackout curtain (we honestly just taped gro blinds to the window so no light comes in) high chair (we leave ours out there because we go so much but a booster seat would work), and a safe area for playing (we use a north gate superyard, you could also use your pack and play). Then just little things like diapers, more wipes than usual, sunscreen, hats, lots of clothing options especially pjs and sleep sacks because sometimes cabins can get hot OR cold and humid. Nice to have options and decide before bedtime. Also good to have a fan in the room if it’s hot. 
We always try to drive out right after nap one so he doesn’t nap in the car, and then has a nap in the new space before bedtime. First nap there is always rough but makes bedtime not such a new thing for him. We also don’t usually share a room but at the cabin we do, so that makes the sound machine extra important.
It’s worth it and it’s super fun! Bring a stroller or carrier if there’s somewhere to go for walks and lots of toys to keep them busy! We absolutely love taking our two little ones to the cabin!

We go tent camping, so her pack and play is a must. We put it on one side of the tent and she sleeps pretty well in there. It also is great for her to play in during the day and definitely lots of toys.

We go camping all the time. If your little one isn’t walking yet bring an exersaucer to keep them entertained and contained when you need them to be and it’s perfect for sitting around a fire. But if your little one doesn’t use one at home don’t bother.  Pack for all kinds of weather. I make sure to have summer things and winter things because well weather. Bug spray is needed. I also have a bin of toys that’s for camping only so it’s all new and fun and entertains longer. Bubbles and glow sticks are lots of fun.

We recently took our daughter to a cabin for 2 nights (she’s 10 months). I tried my best to only take essentials. Took her pack n play and white noise machine. Our cabin was air conditioned, but you may want a fan if it’s not. Reused one rash guard swimsuit, and only took like 3-4 swim diapers. I wore her in a carrier while hiking/exploring. It was hot and sunny, so she wore plain white long sleeve Gerber onesies (lightweight) to reduce exposure and need for sunscreen and light pants. Take sunscreen, DEET bug spray if in the woods, and a sun hat. Food wise, we bought groceries at our destination, but I did take some pouches for convenience and her fave snacks. She’s on formula, so we just brought a tub from home and bought filtered water to mix. She ate on our laps. Other than the long car ride to reach our destination, she was great the whole trip.
