Shoes for Early Walker!?

I went and tried on stride rite and Robeez but he wouldn’t walk in them. Just a couple steps. I don’t want to waste my money, but I’d like to start getting him to wear shoes outside since he’s full out walking now!

We live in Eu and visit to orthopedist at 3, 6, 9 and 11 months is obligatory here. During our last visit doc noticed our little one was wearing shoes. He strongly recommended to let him walk bear foot while it’s still warm and sunny outside. And continue having him without shoes even in winter while being at home. We just follow what he recommended.

If it’s nice out barefoot is best. If needed try the ones with leather bottoms as they are closest to bare feet. Bare feet helps babies stay grounded and it’s so good for their health to walk around outside in the dirt and grass. But I do put robeez on my little guy when we go to town.

I just bought some stride right. I bought them a little big and she wears them around the house. They are a little awkward but she’s getting the hang of it.

We just bought her some cheapies at Walmart and she’s doing fine in them. We were able to get her 4 pairs for around $40. She now has athletic sneakers, casual sneakers, athletic strappy sandals and more dressy sandal. She only wears them when we go outside to play or out somewhere at this point so we went cheaper. We figure once she’s actually wanting to walk when we’re out (like at the store) we’ll splurge a bit more.

I tried shoes too and they made her trip up a lot. She's not used to lifting her feet that tiny bit more when walking and it just aggravates her because she's used to practically running and they're slowing her down. So she goes on strike and tries to take them off. Haha. I've been trying to find a really thin shoe that maybe wouldn't be as much of a change to her.
