What do you do if baby doesn't want to eat more than a few bites or spoonfuls of their meal?

Like if you serve lunch, and baby only eats a tiny bit (2 spoons, or a few bites), do you just stop there and that's it for lunch that day? Or do you give a different food that you know he likes? Just curious. I know they still get their main calories from milk but still.
