My sister says that it’s bad luck to buy baby things before the baby shower but I’m literally so excited i just want to start buying a few things when did you ladies start to buy things for you unborn child ?

We started buying baby stuff before we were even pregnant with our first 🤷‍♀️ so glad we started early because we had such a great stash by the time we finally had a baby!

My husband and I started buying things around 12 weeks. We tried to make a big purchase item (car seat, stroller, crib, etc) at least once a month so we weren’t spending it all at once at the very end.

I bought a couple things here and there in my second trimester, but I wanted to wait and see what I got at my shower. Afterwards I bought all the things I still needed. I found I got a TON of baby clothes at my shower, so I wouldnt reccomend getting too many of those ahead of time

With my first baby I bought some stuff early. Some plain white bodysuits and sleepsuits. Mittens which i almost never used. And bibs. All plain white. Till I knew the gender between 16-20 weeks then I started buying more stuff.
No baby shower, and jinx is not really in my dictionary. 😅

As soon as I knew wat I was having I started buying things. I like to be ahead of the game and when I had my shower it was just extra things that I didn’t hve already Have. But this is my 5th child so they did ask what I needed but that’s what registries are for.

If this iui cycle worked I’m 2 weeks 5 days and bought some cloth diapers on pre-order so they’ll arrive in October! I’m slowly going to stock up on cloth diapers and wipes so I have what I need when baby is here.
I also figure there are certain things I just will not receive at a shower! 
Plus it’s easier to spend a little here and there rather than a big sum at once. Helps avoid sticker shock sometimes.
