[WARNING LONG STORY BELOW]

I still can’t believe it. The morning of the 4th of July I was suppose to start my period. But I hoped I didn’t because I’ve been TTC for 4 months. But I was cramping the day before and a little the morning of like every month around this time. My partner goes to work at 8am and I get up to pee and grab a tampon. But something in me told me to try one more time.

I only had one more test so better use it now and buy more next month. I usually pee in a cup and dip my tests but I just knew it was gonna be negative like all the others so I decided to just pee on it. The amount of seconds it takes one to pee was over and I turn the test over to put the cap on and I immediately saw TWO lines.

I threw the test across the bathroom floor and sat on the toilet for what seemed like forever. I got up and picked it up and there it was two perfectly pink lines that’s I’ve always wanted to see!

So many emotions were going through my head, happiness, sadness, anxiety, I didn’t know what to do. I knew I had to tell my partner cause I couldn’t hold in this big of a secret. looked at my phone and the time was 8:05am all this in 5 minutes. Did he already make it work? Would it be worth it to call him now? Should I wait?

I called him and acted as though something was wrong.

“Hey you didn’t make it far did you?”

“No, why what’s up?”

“You need to turn around and come home now”

“Why’s what’s wrong are you okay? Is Saddie(our dog) okay?”

“Yeah it’s something weird just happened and I need you to get here”

We hung up and my heart was racing. Like I mentioned we’ve been TTC for months so we have a few tiny things like onesies and I remember this one specific onesie I bought. I dug it out and laid everything on his desk in his office.

He gets home and I make him follow me in the office and I go “you’re never gonna see what just happened it’s crazy!” I moved out of the way for him to see this:

We cried and hugged and screamed for as long as we could. Of course he had to go back to work but he turned and looked at me before he left and said “This is the best 4th of July I’ve ever had!”
