Cut the straps, take off all padding and fabric material and write on shell “Do Not Use” and then put it all in the trash (separate trash cans if you have more than one).

I’m pretty I saw somewhere if it’s unusable then you destroy it. Cause if you just trash somebody else can come pick it up and then they’ll be using a faulty car seat. So take a hammer to it and just destroy it. Or donate it to a high school that still does those baby things if it’s an infant seat.

Some retailers do trade ins and they send it back to the manufacturer for credit. If you can find a trade in call the manufacturer and ask if they want to recycle it
