Early signs of preeclampsia???

Nicole
So i have gestational diabetes and today i went to my high risk ob and they prescribed me meds to keep my sugars regulated after breakfast. So now i have to take it once a day. :( but they tested my urine and came back positive for ketones and protein. Is this an early sign of developing preeclampsia? I am 35 weeks, and she wants me to come in twice a week now for non stress tests and i have a growth ultrasound scheduled for oct 5. She said they will definitely induce by 39 weeks, but im concerned about developing preeclampsia bc ive heard protein in the urine is a sign. Has anyone had protein in their urine and not have preeclampsia??

I have diabetes type two and take insulin 3 times a day, they will do the urine test in high risks pregnancies like ours they won't worry about preeclampsia unless you feel symptoms they will run the test again and if there is more protein then the last then you could have it, they see the first urine test as more of a baseline. They started me on the NSTs at 32 weeks (I am now 38 weeks and being inducing next Thursday!)so around where you are and they will check your BP at all of those too so they will catch it fast if you start developing symptoms. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
