Period on and off for a month...?

So I’m turning 14 in a week or two, and my period has been on and off for a month or so... it’ll either be blood, spotting, or absolutely nothing. It’s completely random and it’s annoying. I can never go without pads, because I’m never sure.

When I was your age, I had periods that were erratic and lasted for 2 months at a time sometimes. When was your first period and when did the craziness start? If you were fairly regular for a while, it’s definitely worth mentioning. Although, you’re young and your body probably hasn’t regulated yet. Mine didn’t “regulate” until I was 17. Have you had any other symptoms? Dizziness, nausea, headaches, white gums, dehydration? Anemia would be a concern here as well. I had anemia when my periods were as such. Try to incorporate more iron rich foods to ensure you don’t have that problem. Fresh spinach, beets, lean meats, some nuts, beans, and certain veggies. Make sure you aren’t having iron inhibitors while you are eating your iron rich foods. Dairy products will keep iron from absorbing so always make sure there is a 2 hour gap between these food items.
