Mucus plug

First time mom and just want to better understand what I’m looking for whenever they say “you los your mucus plug” does it always come out as bloody show like us that your mucus plug or could it be a dark yellow color? I just had a big chunk of dark yellow musus come out and not sure if that’s considered my mucus plug. Thanks everyone
