Gained 41 pounds 😫

I was already 25-30 pounds over weight when I got pregnant and now I've gained 41 pounds with 3.5 weeks left until my due date. So I need advice. 1. How do I stop putting on weight from now until he's born and 2. Any experienced moms have any advice on how to drop weight healthily after baby comes? Thank you in advance!

Cut out all carbs and sugars

Cutting carbs and sugars in pregnancy, specifically later pregnancy when baby put on weight quicker, will not cause you to retain or gain weight. The point is to limit available glucose- which can help to avoid a disproportionately large baby

Mom's a diabetes educator and says this will actually make you retain weight. Better to do healthy carbs (whole wheat mainly) and aim to stay under 40 carbs for lunch and 35 for breakfast and dinner.

I would check out different meal plans for diabetes. Lots of tips, ideas and portion control. It's important that your baby still get a well rounded diet, including carbs.

I am right there with you!  I was 25-30 pounds over when finding out and have gained another 35 being pregnant. My plan is to breast feed and eat really healthy after she comes. My husband will be doing the food shopping so it should be a little easier on me not being tempted to buy the junk food I love lol!!  And make sure you eat healthy 5 times a day (more if you are awake longer). It keeps your metabolism up to help lose weight and drink tons of water. Good luck to you and know you're not alone!! 💛

I would start with a calorie journal. Of right now you are eating a lot of carbs  you can switch them out with veggies. I would be very careful trying to cut back on calories unless instructed to do so by your doc. Also next time talk to your doc about this they can refer you to a dietician. For after baby I'm doing 21 day fix but adding 500 calories a day to what they say I need to account for breast feeding. But the best thing would be for you to talk to a dietician.

Me too, I was already overweight and gained 60 more pounds!!! But I'm creating a baby so it could have been gained for a worse reason! Hang in there :)
