How soon to start prenatal vitamins before TTC?

Hey! I’m new to this app and have learned a lot through these groups. 
One of the things I seen was when you start TTC, it’s recommended to start taking prenatal vitamins. 
Me and my boyfriend have plans to start TTC in September/October. How soon did everyone start taking prenatal? Is there a “best” time to start taking them? Also do you have any recommendations on brands to take?

We’re so excited and are hopeful that things happen soon and safely.

I take Women's one a day. It has a vitamin and folic acid pill.

I just started taking Ritual vitamins. They’re pricier, $30. I was taking rainbow multi but the vitamin smell was gross. Plus, I like the way ritual designs their pills and formulates their formula. They don’t add unnecessary  vitamins for the sake of make their ingredients looks substantial.

Start taking them now!  The sooner the better! I take naturemade with dha that I get at Costco and I really like them!
