Vacay w Baby?

Hi mommies! My hubby and I are taking our sweet baby girl on vacation for the first time next week and I had some questions?
We are flying from SC to WA will be there for 5 days then flying back. We have to leave our house at 3 AM and i think its a 6? Hour flight? Has anyone had experience w this? I plan on brining lots of snacks, a nursing cover, and a couple toys. Anything else to entertain? She normally does sleep well in arms so I’m assuming that will be a no go.
Also, how did ypur LO handle time change? I know it will be a little crazy at first but i’m trying to get a general idea of what it will be like the first couple of days considering our time change will be 3 hours back than what we are used too..

Bring Clorox wipes, planes let families with infants board first so take the time to wipe down the seats windows backs of seats down. They never get cleaned and you will see how black the wipes get. Our baby just loved to touch everything. I nursed her and she didn’t cry. Otherwise bring a bottle to feed during take off and landing to pop the ears. Ours did great during our last trip had so much fun looking around. Otherwise plan on staying on the same time schedule on vacation. Bring your sound machine if you use one. I forgot and the nights were rough.

Check stroller at the gate. If you can afford a seat for him that's a plus but it's doable without. Try to feed at take off/landing or at least use a paci.

Just got back yesterday from Vegas. I was really nervous about flying with our 8 month old but I think he did pretty well. He’s was pretty happy and smiling all the time. Other passengers were even playing with him. We did however have one incident. We flew from MD and had a layover in Philadelphia. We sat on the tarmac for nearly 2 hours due to bad weather and refueling issues. LO was doing so well but started to get cranky about 2 hours into the flight which was around his bedtime. He cried for probably 5-10 minutes but it felt like an eternity. I could tell other passengers were getting annoyed. I finally got him to settle down and he slept until we landed. He did not adjust to the time difference well he stayed on his sleeping schedule but we made it work. The flight home was a lot easier because he slept most of the time. My advice is pack plenty of snacks, food, and milk. Bring a favorite toy (one that doesn’t make noise of course) and a favorite blanket or stuffed animal. Good luck changing diapers in the small bathroom. I’m petite and it still felt a little tight for me. Hope you have a great vacation!

I don’t really let my baby watch much tv or videos on phone but if I were taking a trip I’d probably try to download some Netflix cartoons, would maybe entertain her for a bit!

We went to Florida last month with our little guy who was just shy of 8 months then. The family bathrooms at the airports were a life saver, because me and my hubby could both be in there to change the baby, use the bathroom, and have our luggage with us. We actually didn’t use a stroller in the airport, and just used a baby carrier. My son was cranky for about 5-10 minutes each flight, but I tried to nurse him as much as possible. I sat in the window seat with him to have some privacy while nursing, but my son liked to touch the windows and everything around him. Have wipes at the ready to try and minimize germs. We were lucky with 2 1.5 hour flights to get from WI to Florida. We visited family on our trip, so his schedule was off from being in a new place, sleeping somewhere new, and being around different people. When we came home from vacation, he slept 13 hours straight that night!
