What next?

Question

So what happens when you get to your due date and your little one hasn't arrived?
When do they start talking inductions etc?
I've got a doppler scan tomorow to check blood flow as she's measuring small then I have a growth scan next week I'm now 38 weeks!

If it is just down to being overdue, they will discuss it usually at your 40/41 wk midwife appt. if there are other reasons like measuring small/big or other worries that’s done as needed. But you won’t generally be induced until around 12/14 days after your due date 😊good luck

My baby was measuring small so had a doppler scan and there was decreased blood flow as I was only 33 weeks they monitored me 3 times a week with doppler checks and then baby heartbeat monitor. Once I got to just shy of 36 weeks I had a scan and it showed 1 no flow this was the second time it happened so they induced me. Luckily I had the steroid injections for her lungs at 33 weeks so when she arrived she was 4lb 8oz but super healthy.
 If you have decreased blood flow and your already 38 weeks then they might  just induce you as baby is fully developed and it's a lot safer for the baby on the outside.

My little boy (fist baby) was due 16th July and came on the 11th so don’t assume you’ll be overdue or even get to your due date! 
But when I had my 38w midwife appointment she did say that at my next appointment (40w) I’d be offered a sweep and then again at 41w. I was booked in for an induction, just in case, for 41+4 after meeting with my consultant at 38w.

You will usually have an appointment around your due date and then another a week later (if you still haven't gone into labour). Midwife will offer you a sweep at some point so you can accept that if you want to. And they will discuss a date for induction based on what's normal in your trust. Some places won't let you go past a week, others are 2. But of course you can always decline induction if all is well and you are happy to just have extra monitoring.
