Can I be induced?

This is my second pregnancy. I had a c section due to my daughter being breach. I really want a vbac but my dr said that at 41 weeks if I haven't gone into labor naturally that I will be scheduled for a c section. Shes kind of intimidating so I always forget what to ask while I'm at my appointment. She made it seem like I cant be induced if I've had a c section before. Is this true?

I am attempting vbac. The only induction method the doctor said he will use is pitocin. So if the cervix isn't progressing they can't use softeners or other techniques due to increased risk of rupture. So if your doctor is saying your cervix isn't favorable for induction then the csection is advised. We are waiting until week 41 to see if I progress. If not even if we tried an induction there would be a good chance of it ending in C-section anyways.

That is not true and don’t let her intimidate you. You can definitely have a successful vbac, maybe she doesn’t want to do it some doctors don’t like it. I was induced on July 10 and had a successful vbac.

We’ll be using a Foley bulb and ARM. 
They want to avoid any synthetic oxytocin as it increases the risk of uterine rupture

I had a vbac with my last and had an induction scheduled at 41w with the balloon and mild pitocin. I actually went into early labor three days prior, so didn’t end up needing the balloon but did get pitocin and manual breaking of my water. It was a successful vbac. Going for my second vbac, and doctor will set my induction date at my appointment on Monday, when I’m 38 weeks, for sometime between 40-41 weeks.

Where I live no doctor or hospital is allowed to medically induce a woman with a prior cesarean, so basically yeah, here either you go into labor on your own or you’re forced into surgery. You’re lucky you get to go to 41, I was told 40 by my OB but managed to weasel my way to 40+4. I can however use acupuncture and all of the more natural induction techniques. They can also do membrane sweeps. My OB has me going to labor inducing acupuncture appointments each week now. Worth asking about.

Have you had any complications this pregnancy? I feel like if the pregnancy has been uncomplicated then they should definitely give you options unless a c section is medically necessary. I’d ask them about a vbac and see if they think it would be safe or if there’s a reason they want to go straight to a c section.
