My induction story

Angela

Oh my lord, this was a quick night! I went in at 7:30 pm Friday the 12th to start my cervical ripening. As soon as they put this little strip in behind by cervix (to dilate and soften it) I started having painful contractions that were less than 5 minutes apart. So they have be wait it out and eventually they give me a morphine shot. Within an hour I was having more painful contractions that were making me cry and almost scream. I did end up passing out for a little bit, and my little guy kicked me so hard that my water broke. At that point I was 5cm and was begging for the epidural. Within 15 minutes the anesthesiologist came in and was getting everything set up. It took 40 minutes to get it all set up. By that time I was saying I needed to push. They checked me, not believing me, I was 10 centimeters dilated and his head was crowning. 14 minutes after that (5 contractions), my little man Percival James Reeves was born. The whole labor and delivery process took less than 9 hours. My Percy was born at 5:54 am Saturday July 13th. 2 weeks before he was due. ❤️
