12% percentile ?

I went in for my 30 week scan at my specialist, everything with my baby girl is perfect and she’s healthy but they said she’s small, and she’s in the 12% percentile only weighing 2 pounds and a few ounces, I feel like she’s bigger inside of me though and I’ve already had two kids before her, it’s scary and concerning to me because what if she stops growing, I figured a baby being 2 pounds at this pound was normal.

They will definitely do growth scan cuz anything 10 percentile or lower it could be IUGR and we went thru it with my son he was at 7 percentile at his anatomy and it got worst and he had to be delivered early and thank God for the constant scans i had it saved him cuz they saw that his fluidwas dangerously low on one of my biophysical scan.

That seems weird to me, at week 28 my baby was just under 2 pounds and in the SECOND percentile. Also, my doctor said they like to see babies in the 10th - 90th and anywhere in there is perfectly healthy and normal (we were in the 9th percentile when she told us this at 24 weeks) so for your baby to be in the normal percentile range but they say she's 2 pounds seems off to me.

So at the opposite end, I was measuring ahead 2wks in everything when I went in at 31 wks.  Baby was weighing 4lbs 8oz but I was only in the 40%🤷‍♀️.

With ultrasound, there is a 2+/- pound margin error, so it’s possible that she could be a bit bigger than what’s on the screen. 12th isn’t as nerve wracking as it might sound. Doctors don’t start to be concerned until below 10th percentile. If your doctor is proactive, they may decide to do another scan to make sure it your baby’s trend and a placenta issue. That’s the process I am going through with my 7th percentile baby. From all of his in-depth scans, he’s seemed absolutely perfect, and I don’t feel worried. He’s trended 6th percentile the whole pregnancy, but I am also glad to be taking the extra look.

That is pretty small, my baby is also measuring on the smaller side and at 30 wks baby was 3lbs 2 oz. Was your doctor concerned?
