So my husband’s company has AMAZING parental leave!! The DADS get 24 weeks paid 100% of salary to use within the first year!! (I get 4weeks paid at 60%) but here’s the issue he’s half salary half commission, if Baby comes on time August 27 and he starts his leave in August he won’t receive 100%of his commission only 100%of his salary which is a 13k difference for the month of August. He can use 1-2sick day to be with me in the hospital but after that I would be alone 1 day in the hospital if I stay 3 days and then home alone with my 3yo and newborn for 3days til Sept 1 when he would be able to take the next month off and not impact his commission as much. So here’s my dilemma IF Baby comes on time do I stay in the hospital by myself for a day and then spent 3 days at home alone with my both my girls to insure he gets the extra 13k or does he start his leave when I deliver and lose the 13k.
