Should you refuse to talk to people who have different political beliefs?

One of my closest friends is on the alt right now. But I still love them. I just wish they'd get it together and stop believing dumb things. So I'm lightly socialist, but really open minded, previously libertarian. Now my friend is alt right and was libertarian and liberal before that.

Some of the things my friend says are horrible. It hurts my heart. I miss how my friend used to be a better humanist.

These are weird times politically. But I don't drop my loyalty to people who have been there for me through so much 🤔
