Does your Jan 18 baby use a touch screen device for games etc?

Wondering how many parents have let their toddler use a phone or tabelt to play games or watch videos

Our pediatrician recommended no screen time until 2 at the earliest, but she supports our personal decision to avoid screen time as long as we want. I don’t feel comfortable giving a toddler a screen to play with, or having them watch TV. I’m also a teacher and I’ve noticed big differences between the kids who’ve had plenty of screen time (most of them to be honest) and the kids who have had very limited or no screen time. But these are my reasons and my experiences and, at the end of the day, I think that every mama should make the call for themselves and their own families.

We are in the age of technology even my 5 year has an iPad in her kindergarten classroom so what would be the point of keeping them from learning to use a device that they will have to use anyway. That being said we have a parental block with educational games and videos and an app for nursery rhymes so it isn't like she is rotting her brain with inappropriate apps and there is a time limit set that locks them out after they have reached they still play with toys and do outside activities but it is also important to keep up with the times.

I tried not giving her screen time. But my husband and his family ruined that for me. She's not on tablets or phones but she does watch TV.

My son wasnt allowed to watch tv till he was 1 year. And even now he isnt really allowed. But hes also not really interested. He prefers music. Hes not allowed to touch our phones, and we don't play on our phones when hes around.

I’m waiting until he’s 2 to decide whether or not he’s getting a tablet. He uses my phone occasionally to watch Sesame Street, but that’s about it right now. He more prefers to pretend to talk to people on it rather than watch something 😅

iPhones and iPads have a feature called guided access that we use to limit screen time and keep ds locked in the app daddy or I have selected for him.
