Nexplanon imlant consideration

Hey everyone,

Im considering getting the nexplanon implant- i was supposed to get it a few weeks ago but the obgyn i went to forgot to have it ordered in time for my appointment. So I’m taking this as an opritunity research it more. At this point I feel like I’ve tried every progestron only birth control under the sun. I hated the depo shot (I was constantly angry for 3 months - also low sex drive) my paraguard iud traveled (from what i was told it was too large for my uterus) and the mini pill is my fried and true yet I often forget to take it. I’ve been in a committed relationship for 5 years and I can’t be forgetting pills and living in fear. Thought as I’ve looked into some of the more hidden side effects of the Implant I am worried it is not right for me. I’d love to have a register nurse or dr. Weigh in here... I see that mild insulin resistance is a side effect, having had pancreatitis I am concerned this could be an issue for me. Also nexplanon is made with Barium so that it can be seen in an mri or X-ray - i am concerned I may have an intolerance to barium as that last time I was exposed to it as contrast for an intestine MRI i had a horrible reaction and was violently Ill.
