Second pregnancy, scared of labor!
So, this is my second pregnancy. My first is currently a 1 and 1/2 year old and I had him at 17, I’m currently 19 and expecting my second in late August. Long story short I’m terrified for my second labor.
My first labor was a breeze, he was born at 36 weeks, I went to the hospital with contractions that were intense and consistent, the nurse didn’t think I was in labor. Checked me out and told me I wasn’t even dilated. Few hours later, around 5-6pm my son moved away from the heart monitor and sent everyone into a frenzy. The doctor took a look at his heart beat once they found it and said it was stable but they’d keep me over night for observation. Around 12 AM my nurse asked if I wanted a sleeping aide and checked my cervix, I was 8 CM dilated and didn’t even know. Around 2:45 AM my water broke and my son came fast, the doctor barely walked through the door as I was on my last pushes. The only real complication with his birth was that they had to use the vacuum to help get him out. I also had bad back labor, but I didn’t get a epidural cause it scared me (lol) and only one dose of fentanyl, which I hated, so I’m really hoping for a 100% natural birth this time.
I’m not sure why I’m so scared for my second, I have a anterior placenta, gestational diabetes, I’m also measuring smaller in my fundal height than my weeks but my doctor said It was due to my petite stature and am terrified something is going to go wrong. Is it just hormones? Help!
