6 week check up after C Section no cervix check?

Just had my six week check up, told my doctor I was still bleeding heavily bright red blood all day and night. It is showing no signs of letting up. He checked my incision but did not do any kind of exam to check my cervix or feel my uterus. He cleared me to use tampons and have sex though. I know bleeding is normal 6-8 weeks pp but he told me I don’t need to come back until my 6 month pap to get my birth control refilled. He prescribed me birth control at my last appt that I’m currently taking.

I’m sure I’m just worrying for no reason but should I be concerned he didn’t check my cervix before telling me I could use tampons? I told him I was coming back at 8 weeks if the bleeding hadn’t stopped. That was my suggestion not his.
