“Stay on your Ps and Qs so this doesn’t happen again.”
Last year I was raped by an ex boyfriend. I went through a state of denial for 7 months after it happened. I spent the next 7 months in a state of depression then acceptance. A couple days before my 27th birthday this year I decided to report the rape to the police. From the 911 operator to the investigating detective, I was asked if I was reporting now because I was mad at him for something new. During my interview with a Sgt in sex crimes I was constantly questioned about what I wore, why I drank, why I didn’t call
The police or go to the hospital the next morning after I woke up. I had passed out before he had sex with me... at the end of the interview the sgt walked me out and told me to stay on my p’s and q’s so nothing like that every happens again... I’m currently in the process of writing a more detailed report to the police detective. #metoo
I have been diagnosed with PTSD from several other past sexual abuse experiences and other traumatic experiences.
