It's been 15 hours since they took my Clara to the NICU and I'm losing my mind ðŸ˜
I noticed she was breathing a little fast yesterday and the nurses weren't too concerned because they said her lungs were in transition, so at 4:30 this morning they took her to the nursery for her 24 hour pulse ox test and her blood sugar was low and she was breathing harder than before (lung sats were in the high 80s and should be in the 30s), so they took her straight to the nicu for testing and xrays. Her whole left lung was obscured on the xray, although it's fully developed and functioning. Talked to the doctor, he threw out a million different possibilities they were thinking of, mainly pneumonia, and he said they did a few blood cultures and we're waiting on those results to come Saturday morning to confirm or rule out pneumonia, and an echocardiogram and sent that to a specialist at Hershey Hospital upstate and started her on antibiotics. They finally did a 2nd and 3rd xray this afternoon from the side and back and it has cleared a little so she's responding to the antibiotics, but her lung is still greatly obscured, so they're thinking it's pneumonia. It's been 15 hours and I miss her so much, and the thought of not being able to bring her home for 5-8 days is killing me inside. In the 41 hours since my labor started I've slept maybe an hour and cried at least the first 27 and last 12. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
