Hot baths while pregnant?

My friend just told me today that hot baths are bad for the baby, especially in the first trimester. Has anyone else heard this or quit taking hot baths? I love taking a bath, it helps with my anxiety when it flares up.

As long as it’s not so hot it raises your body temperature above 100F. It’s totally safe otherwise

I was bummed when I heard you can’t take hot baths. I held off for a week or two 😂😂 but have been taking hot baths ever since and my girl is fine and kicks away. You just don’t want to stay in so long that it raises your temperature to or above 100 Fahrenheit.

You just cant have super hot baths. Basically you dont want to be sweating while in the bath. They can actually be super soothing while you're pregnant :)

As long as you’re not sweating and drink water while you’re soaking you’re fine. I’ve soaked in baths all 3 of my pregnancies and been fine. Its my get away and place to relax.

I was trying to avoid them because I like my bath hot, but I finally just bought a thermometer for the bath water--now I can enjoy a bath without being paranoid.

I take a ton of baths but definitely don’t make them as hot as I used to.  If you feel overheated during your bath, then it’s too hot.

Yes in the first 5 to 9nweeks some.studies have shown neural defects from it. Its true your temp should get higher.than what's was stated. But prolonged at a rate below that is also a bit risky. But ask your ob to be sure.
