How many?

Question

We all know it's often cheaper to buy in bulk, but I don't want to be excessive.
Any ideas roughly how many maternity pads for example you typically get through?
I know it can last a week or longer, and everyone is different, but would love a rough idea so I can plan & save

I didn't even go through a full package. And I just used my usual period pads. I had bought some of the super-extra-long-overnight-with-wings and I haaaaated them. They were super sweaty and stuck to my bum haha. I used like 2 of them before I couldn't take it anymore.

I found depends way easier to deal with than pads. I used the hospital ones first though. I didn’t bleed very heavy either but it did last about 4 weeks

I wouldn’t buy in bulk. I bought one normal size pack of heavy pads and didn’t use them all and I was bleeding for 5 weeks. I ended up needing to buy a couple packs of normal pads.

I wouldnt buy them in bulk. You’d likely end up wasting so many of them. I never needed “maternity” pads, and stopped heavy bleeding after 4 Days.

It honestly just depends on how much you bleed. I bleed really heavy the first 2 days after birth which is normal. Then the first week it was like a normal heavy period. I wore depends with a pad inside which is a lifesaver. After about the first week, I switched to underwear with a maxi pad. Depending on how much you bleed will determine how many pads you use. I’m currently 3 weeks pp and I’m not really bleeding at all, but I occasionally have a sudden rush of blood. I still wear maxi pads just to be safe. I’m almost out of my second pack of maxi pads which contains 48. Soo I’ve went through about 80  pads so far.

I’d be hesitant to buy in bulk. I thought I’d bleed heavier for longer, but by the time we got home from the hospital it was like an average period. A couple days later it was a light period flow. By 1 week PP I only needed pantyliners. 
Everyone is different so I would wait for a week after your baby arrives and see where you’re at. Even with the liners, I still have half a box left over (originally a box of 200) and I’m 1.5 years PP 😅
