Finally!! 7.17.19 @ 2:59 pm
I had an induction scheduled for Tuesday morning at 12:00 am. We got there at 11:50 and got in our room by 12:30. They started the first part of the oral pill, Cytotec, and then gave me the second dose four hours later. I started pitocin at 9:30. Nothing happened all day except me sleeping. They stopped the pitocin around 4 pm bc my cervix wasn’t dilating or changing. So I got to eat, use the bathroom, and shower.
Wednesday morning (7.17)
They started the pitocin around 4:00 am, and it automatically picked up where we left off the day before. I was contracting my cervix just wasn’t changing. I was having stronger and more frequent contractions. My doctor came to check me at around 9:30 am, and he broke my water. Weirdest feeling i have ever felt. Things started moving pretty quickly after that. I got an epidural around 11 am. Things were better after that.. well up until I got checked for the last time. After he broke my water, I got checked again like three times before the big show. Last time I got checked was around 2:20, and I felt it this time bc I couldn’t before due to the epidural. So I knew something was up. Anyways, I was full blown 10 cm and crowning. I started pushing at 2:52 and had him at 2:59. I only pushed 4/5 times, and it was only 8.5 minutes long. BUT. I felt everything. Every little thing. I felt my sons head pushing his way out, his shoulders exiting me, being cut, and every single stitch. I got 7-8 stitches inside and out.
It was such a horrible but amazing experience. I felt everything until they put him on my chest, the pain left. Once they took him to the warmer, all of the pain came back right away.
