FTM C section or not to c section?

Hey all, 
So I'm currently 35+3 and as of my last appointment baby is still breech. At this point I know my doctor will not let me go past 38-39 weeks due to my gestational hypertension which I am on medication for. At my appointment this week he said if baby has not flipped by next week's appointment he'd like to start discussing and possibly pick a scheduled c section date. Now he did mention that if I choose not to I can still have a safe vaginal delivery but it would of course be more risky if baby doesn't flip. I don't want to take any unnecessary risks, but I would 110% prefer to have a natural birth. My question is if I have a c section scheduled and baby decides to flip once it's already planned can I still have the natural birth I want or is it set in stone once this is booked? I know it's less likely for them to flip later on in the pregnancy, but I have my fingers crossed!! 🤞🤞

They can do an ultrasound right before the surgery and you can opt out if baby is head down at that point. I've read that happening a few times on here. Just discuss it with your doctor and let them know that's the plan

Someone on this app said her dr would allow her to get an epidural and try to flip the baby (a friend did it at 37 weeks without the epidural and said it really hurt and she's a champ, so with epidural is probably better) and then do an induction if successful,  if it didn't work then they'd do the c section as scheduled. Just throwing another option out there.
I've had 2 vaginal births via induction and 2 c sections. I'd definitely try to avoid the c section if safe to do so.

C-sections have far more risks than a vaginal birth does.
If you want the option with less risks, then go for a vaginal delivery.
As someone who has had a C-section, recovery is not easy, and something to be avoided unless it’s a genuine medical necessity.

My first baby was Frank breech! I opted for a csection and I had an amazing experience! I wanted natural but overall, just wanted a healthy baby. I refused for them to turn her and just did the csection! She was perfect and I had her at 38 weeks! I wouldn't risk the safety of my kiddo for a natural birth, but if the doctor says he can do it, then the choice is ultimately up to you. Good luck mama!

Ask about an ecv ( I think that's what it's called). It's where the doctors try to flip baby. There are also things you can try on your own to get baby to flip. If you go into labor naturally before your scheduled c section you can try to go for it naturally. I personally wouldn't recommend a c section because it's really hard on the body and recovery can be hard as well. There are also risks to having a c section as well as a natural. I had a c section and hated it! I will be trying for a vbac this time.

Just because it's scheduled doesn't mean it's set in stone.  If anyone in the medical field understands how suddenly things can change it's the baby department!

If you go into labor before csection and baby is in the right position you won’t need to have a csection. I am scheduled for 39 weeks because of GD and previous csection due to breech baby. Buuuuuut if I go into labor nautically before then I’m going to try to vbac (this babe is head down).

I was scheduled for an ecv to turn baby today at 37 weeks, they did an ultrasound first and he was already head down, so he flipped either Wednesday or Thursday.
