Demotion for being pregnant?

I work at a bar/ restaurant in Colorado (not sure if it makes a difference) I've been working there for almost 2 years. It took me a year and a half to work my way up to a position in bar. 
I'm 12 weeks pregnant today and they found out as soon as I did because I had horrible morning sickness and had to call off work for about 2 weeks. When I got back I still had a shift in the bar which is less than my normal 3, but I only had 3 days scheduled anyway because I'm trying to take it easy. My manager told my boyfriend (who also works there) that I won't be able to be in bar much longer because the bar guys don't like it.. Then my other manager told me that it doesn't really work because it's a tight space, so I'm like okay that makes sense... Whatever.
Today, I am not even showing an I got my schedule, completely taken out of bar, is this legal?! It's a substantial pay decrease.

No matter where you work if you call 2 weeks off you're gonna get demoted. Don't be a priss.

Could it be because you missed two weeks of work and are trying to take it easy? Sounds like they are trying to accommodate your desired schedule, not discriminate against you.

I think you got demoted because they cannot rely on you at the moment. I wouldn't keep a person around, make, female, pregnant, or not, if they called out for two weeks. That puts a ton of extra strain on everyone else and quite frankly, it's not fair to the rest of the team. They have to do what's in their best interest.

Some businesses just suck. That's completely wrong in my opinion. I've been there.. Except I had a miscarriage and took a week off(I had pto to use) because I was too weak to work and was back and forth to the dr... They treated me like crap when I got back and I got fired for missing too much work. I had been there 2 years and worked my butt off for them. Like I said sometimes businesses just suck and have terrible, inconsiderate ppl managing them. I'm sorry you're going through this

I am an attorney. Sounds like discrimination to me based on the comments about men not liking it and it being a tight space. Contact your local EEOC office for some free information.

Even if you were unable to perform the bar functions (which sounds like you can) they are not supposed to put you in a position where you earn less money.

How long have you worked there? How many employees does the bar have?

If they waited a month after you came back then they're going to have a hard time proving it wasn't about your pregnancy. In some circumstances I'm pretty sure pregnancy discrimination is legal, though. Unfortunately. Take Rebecca's advice and check with the EEOC. And file for unemployment if you can.

And shame on everyone saying it was her fault for being sick! We need protections for pregnant people and sick people.  Even the worst job I ever had didn't fire me when I was sick and in the hospital!

2 weeks? That's a long time. If I called off work for 2 weeks, I'd be fired.

The only reason it was 2 weeks was because I originally asked for a few shifts off and then she decided to not put me on the schedule for the next week, and was telling people I was no longer working there.

I ended up in the ER for a few hours, I wasn't being just a "priss". I don't think someone asking you to cover a few shifts right after you get back from a week and a half vacation is that horrible.

But I got fired today, after a month back to work. No reason... Just was told I was to be taken off the schedule.
