Benadryl is not recommended under age 6! Hi friends, this is just weighing on my heart and sorry to pass it all to you. A babysitter in our neighborhood has been charged with manslaughter of a 2 year old who passed in her care due to Benadryl overdose. It’s likely she or another adult caregiver administered to aid the baby in going to sleep. I’ve seen it in the news before, stories of babysitters or parents doing this, but it’s close to home this time. I’m so sad for the family. And then I thought gosh we have a bottle of kids Benadryl in the cabinet but we’ve never given it to our toddler. I remember buying it on the advice of a fellow parent who’s kid had an extreme allergic reaction to a food one time. But now I just want to throw it out. I’d hate for some babysitter in our house to think we give it to our kid.
