First cervical check tomorrow question

Tomorrow is my 36 week appt and my doctor says we are doing the GBS test and first cervical check to see if I'm dilated at all.

I'm just wondering if this hurts? I know the GBS is just a swab in your vag and butt but what about the cervix check? Google tells me its SOOOOO painful and feels like someone is trying to kill you and the people I've asked in my family say it's literally nothing and just feels just as uncomfortable as a pap.

What was your experience??

Also, I know you can opt out of checks until labor, but I would rather know if things are happening and want to be informed. So I will 100% be getting checked.
