Have you had an armpit lump? (Read description)

Question

So I shaved my armpits last night and exfoliated them (I shaved harder than usual as I was seeing if it was a closer shave) after that my armpits starting hurting a lot and it’s the next day and I’ve just noticed a small lump under my right armpit, it hurts very much (my armpits have kinda felt like this before but without the lump) I was just wondering, is this common, has anyone else had this? I’m wondering if I need to go to the doctor or if anyone has any advice! Please leave a comment if you have experienced this.

My sister had an armpit lump and it turned out to be a staph infection. I would definitely ask a doctor about it

Yup. Could be an ingrown hair or slightly swollen lymph node. If it doesn’t go away or down in 2 weeks go to the doctor. Check the other side too; if there’s one over there in the same spot it’s likely nothing abnormal

I have had an armpit lump under both my armpits for going on three years. They come and go but never get any bigger or hard. I'd say mine kind of compare to a peach pit but not hard like that. My doctor said it's my lymph and it's due to stress or the heat that makes them enlarge. He said there was no cause for alarm but we have been actively monitoring them to be sure it doesn't grow. Best advice - go to a doctor as every body is different.
