My hair smells oily

I have always had a certain smell to my hair.

I’m someone who usually takes a shower at night and I lay on my pillows obviously when I sleep so it guess it gets oily and gets this certain smell.

Only once in a while do I take a shower in the morning and the shampoo smell with last for a while.

Now with a boyfriend I don’t want him hugging me having to smell my hair so I was wondering if anyone has a solution or experiences this or had a product they use??

I have straight brown hair if that helps
