Emergency Vertical c Section?

Question

Have anyone had Vertical C Section? 
I had one in 2012 now 7 year later I’m pregnant again I’m seeing 2 doctors , Doctor A willing to let me go to 39weeks then have my schedule section she’s giving me option to have Vertical since I have it already or Horizontal? Which one will be best? Is it okay to have 2 different Sections 😳
Doctor B wants me to have scheduled Vertical Section at 36weeks or 37weeks no more later because of Rupture. 
 Im still early 13weeks but I just want to stay with one doctor and enjoy the rest of my pregnancy but I just need some advice which doctor should I stay with, I also did some research that at 36weeks baby needs to stay in the NICU for 3-4 days due to having to check to see if baby is breathing fine, and if everything is fine?

I had an emergency classic csection  (vertical) at 27 weeks with my first. I am pregnant with my second & Maternal Fetal Medicine will not let me go past 36 weeks due to risk of rupture. He also said they will do horizontal this time. Most babies born at 36 weeks do not need NICU time and if they did it more than likely is just a few days. In my opinion its safer & a better option to deliver slightly early than risk bigger problems by waiting to do the csection later, but its easy for me to say that after having a baby at 27 weeks, 36 weeks doesn't seem nearly as scary.

Most 36 week babies don’t need the NICU, at 35 weeks they don’t have to go to NICU unless they are having issues. The vertical incision takes much longer to heal from and does have a higher risk of rupturing in future pregnancies so that’s probably why one of the doctors doesn’t want you going to 39 weeks. You can always request ultrasounds to see how the scar is doing later in pregnancy and decide then when to do a section.

I tend to be super cautious, so I’d probably be more inclined to do the option that poses the least risk to you and your baby. I’ve definitely heard that a horizontal c section is less intense of a recovery than a vertical, but I also would be worried about the possibility of rupture given that the doctor who is suggesting an early scheduled c section is recommending it. You may want to get a third medical opinion about which option seems best and revisit this question as your pregnancy progresses.

I would do horizontal if I was in that situation. I feel as though the recovery time would be a little shorter than vertical,  but I'm not familiar with ther vertical. I've only ever had horizontal. My boss was cut both ways and seemed to struggle in recover with the vertical,  she still having issues over a year later ( not to say you would )
Also at that point, the baby wouldnt necessarily have to stay in the NICU,  Just depends on how they are breathing and maintaining their body temp and some other things.

Thanks everyone for their experiences with vertical cesareans. I am a FTM, who has multiple enlarged uterine fibroids blocking the exit and have been told I will have to have a vertical c-section which was a bit of a shock. Very good and reassuring to hear how others have gotten on.

Wow! I have to say I’m shocked that one of the doctors said they’d let you go to 39 weeks knowing you had a vertical c-Section. I’m with the others and would go with the earlier delivery and horizontal cut if you can.

My first was vertical (classical) which is for baby’s that haven’t yet dropped into the birth canal (premature) .. those have a high rupture rate so you deliver 36-37 weeks with you next.. my second I had at 36 weeks with a horizontal .. third c section is at 37 weeks this Friday.. horizontal
