Day #7 stims ultrasound showed only one follicle on the left, nothing on the right estrogen is still rising  slowly. Very sad and discouraged 😪
All follicles contain eggs. When more than 50% of follicles >15mm in diameter fail to yield eggs at egg retrieval, this is most commonly due to the eggs being so abnormal (“complex aneuploidy”) that they cannot become detached from the inner lining of the follicle. It is not because the follicles were “empty”. The remedy is to choose the most appropriate protocol for ovarian stimulation, one that controls LH-induced ovarian androgen production, in the hope that fewer eggs will be corrupted by the stimulation process and end up being “complex aneuploid”.
