Please help!! Advice needed! Weaning my 17 month old boy

My son is 17 months. He breastfeeds only to fall asleep really for naps and all through the night almost. I’m trying to wean him but my anxiety really can’t handle it. He has a little temper lol and will throw a fit for almost 2 hours until he gets it. He starts gagging like he’s gonna throw up and throws himself around from being so upset. And won’t fall back asleep at night unless he gets it. He has NEVER slept through the night completely. He eats normally and drinks whole milk and water throughout the day. Any advice on how to wean and how to make it easier on both of us?
