Pre-seed? Do I need it?

Question

I have maybe a dumb question but for those of you who used pre-seed did you use it because you needed lube or it really helps with contraception? I hope this makes sense but I am really (not dry) when I ovulate, not sure if it still is a benefit to use? 
If it helped you- can you please comment with your favorite brand?

Used it for contraception only. Inserted as close to the cervix as possible, and had used each time I conceived! I had a feeling my cervical mucosa wasn’t as ideal as it should have been, so I felt this was a good idea

I didn’t necessarily need lube. My hubby and I tried for 6 months with no luck so on month 7 we bought conceive plus and we did actually conceive that month. I don’t know if the lube really had anything to do it, but I do know we used it each time we bd’d and my hubby used a lot of it each time lol We also Bd’d day before my peak, day of my peak, day after and day after that. So 4x in a row.
