EBF schedule?

Hi ladies, ever since my son was born we've always nursed on demand and not on a tight schedule, he's almost 5 months and still nurses on demand which can vary from 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 3 hours etc. Depending on how our day goes.
Curious to know what your breastfeeding schedule is like!

Always nursed on demand. Now that we are past the 1 year mark and partially weaned, I can see how big of a role “comfort feeding” has played his whole life and how a schedule just can’t account for that. “My baby uses me as a pacifier” is said as a complaint when it’s actually one of the greatest advantages of breastfeeding. Anyway. That’s not really what you’re asking but it’s been on my mind. There are a lot of factors that go into a baby wanting to nurse. A schedule can be a starting place but in my experience trying to stick to one by the letter has only caused frustration for me and my baby.

Hi! I think it’s awesome that you’re nursing on demand. Babies don’t nurse just to eat. They do it for comfort, they need it if they’re sick (because that’s when your supply turns into an antibiotic for the baby), and of course if they’re hungry. I’ve successfully nursed 6 children and with each of them it was always on demand and for 1 1/2 to 2 years each child. My youngest baby is 13 months and she still nurses on demand. She’s the last one and I must say I’ve experienced things in nursing her that I never felt. Especially soreness, chapped and scabs on my breast. I still continue to nurse her. I just use nipple cream and keep going. If you can and you want to keep going, I say do it. It’s worth it for both of you. ❤️

We feed on demand until 1, then she’ll nurse in the morning, at nap, and before bed.

Nurse on demand as well, baby will be 5 months on 8/1. Depending on the day, she will nurse every 1.5-3 hours, occasionally she'll do a random 4-5 hour stretch but very rarely.

I just nursed on demand really, I nursed for 18 months. Eventually it becomes like once in the morning, two quick afternoon sessions, and once at night. Then eventually down to once at night, then none. 😢

On demand but that basically equates to every 2-3 hours during the day. Occasionally she will go 1.5 or 4 hours.

My girl will be 5 months on the 8th- most days she goes three hours between but others only an hour and a half.
